I have gutted a well used Parkzone Habu 2 69mm EDF that I bought at a swap meet with a bungee launch system for a whopping $30!!! I am curious if there is a well proven 3 lbs. ish AUW EDF airframe to slap the salvaged Habu 2 fan esc and 4s-6s battery into?
I will be the first to admit I am ignorant to what is out there for quality EDF airframes that would work with this system. I have experience with a hot funjet and the Habu 2, but that's about it when it comes to jets....My majority of flying is in the 3D 60"-50cc airframes. I have built several scratchbuilts out of depron back in the day, so not opposed to a scratchbuilt EDF, but my first preferance would be an airframe ready for electronics. I also own a bungee launch system, so landing gear is not a needed thing, in fact I prefer something able to utilize bungee launch and belly land as my first choice.
Who has experience with what I'm looking to do that can offer solid advice? I understand this may not be top of the line gear EDF wise, but I am just looking for a solid performer with a big fun factor that can operate on what I have.
Power system info I have to work with (data pulled from Google):
E-flite 15 BL DF motor 3200KV (44A cont/52A burst) rated for up to 800 watts per E-flite
-Static thrust 1.7 lbs on 3S,, 2.8 lbs on 4s
E-flite Delta-V 15 69mm fan unit {without inlet lip)
E-flite 60A Pro Switch-Mode DEC ESC, (75A burst) 3S-6S
4S 2550 50c or 6s 3300 60c lipo's
Thanks in advance!
