Hi Andy,
That's the battery that's in it now. Not sure how old it is since I bought the transmitter used and it doesn't seem to hold a charge for long. A while ago you recommended a Spektrum lipo for my DX 8 and it works great. Just wondered if they made a Lipo for the DX 9 Does the DX 9 only use Life batteries??? and is there a larger life battery than the 2000 that could be used??? If not, I probably should replace the battery that's in it now. Thanks for your info Gary

Then I'll have to go into the DX 9 and set it up for the lipo like I did with the DX 8 Can I charge the DX 9 with the lipo battery installed and use the charging cord like I do the DX 8? and the Lipo will be safe in the DX 9 Just want to make sure and not screw anything up. Thanks for your help Gary I really like the DX 8 lipo battery, I have lots of time on the transmitter GB

The DX9 includes the exact same charger for LiPo and LiIon cells that is in the DX8. Just install the battery and tell it (System Settings) what chemistry you're using. The DX9, like the DX8, just needs a 12V power supply to feed it.
